The brief
PESO Energy Services Limited works in oil and gas: engineering, early production facilities, oil field services and equipment across Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and the United States. They asked us to train their team on using AI safely. We ran a two day programme for 20 people.
The challenge
In most organisations AI arrives before any policy on it does. People start using whatever tool is open in a browser tab, and the questions that matter go unasked: what can go into a prompt, what cannot, where the output needs checking, and which decisions should never be handed over. In a sector where documents carry commercial terms and operational detail, getting that wrong is expensive in ways that are hard to reverse.
Our approach
We built the two days around the work the team actually does rather than around the technology. The first day covers what these tools are and where they fail, so people can judge output instead of trusting it. The second covers safe practice: what belongs in a prompt and what does not, how to verify anything that will be acted on, and where a person has to stay in the loop. Everything is worked through on real tasks, because a principle nobody can apply on Monday morning is not training.
The results
20 people completed the programme and rated it 90% on satisfaction. Participants reported that they left understanding how best to use AI in their work and the safety practices that go with it.
