The brief
Proton Energy Africa Limited develops independent power plants across Africa. Their entire web presence was one static page. It said who they were, but it could not carry the projects, the services or the press coverage the business had built up. We rebuilt it as a full responsive website.
The challenge
A one-page site is cheap to keep and impossible to grow. Every change meant going back to a developer, so the site fell behind the business almost as soon as it launched. Proton had project history and a steady run of press coverage with nowhere to put either, which matters in a sector where credibility is what gets you into the room.
Our approach
We rebuilt the site on a content management system so the team could publish without a developer in the loop. The structure follows how the business actually describes itself: who they are, the projects they have developed, the services they offer, and a media section for press coverage. The build is responsive throughout, which in 2018 was still the difference between a site that worked on a phone and one that did not.
The results
Proton Energy Africa runs a full responsive website their own team keeps current. The media section hosts more than 15 news articles about the company, and the project and service pages carry the detail a single page never could.
