The brief
Mega Lotto Networks Limited came to us to build the system their lottery business would run on: draws, stakes, settlement, agents and players in one platform. We built the Lottery Management System, took it live, and stayed with it through the growth that followed.
The challenge
Mega Lotto Networks Limited were new entrants to the lottery industry. They came to us for the platform and for advice on the industry itself: what a licensed operation has to do, what the draw and settlement cycle demands, and what the agent network would need before any of it was built. There was no legacy system to migrate; the risk was building the wrong thing first.
Our approach
We built the platform around the draw cycle rather than around a website. Games are configured rather than coded, so a new game with its own draw times, stake band and prize structure is an operations task instead of a release. Stakes, results and settlement share one ledger, so what an agent sees, what a player sees and what finance reconciles are the same numbers. Results publish in real time as each draw closes. The agent tier sits on the same system, which is what let the network grow without a second platform to keep in sync.
The results
Mega Lotto went live and scaled to over 3,000 agents across South West Nigeria, processing more than ₦4bn in stakes. The platform runs multiple draws every day across a catalogue of named games, with results published live and agents recruited into the same system that settles them.
